Buying equipment and trucks at Ritchie Bros. unreserved auctions is easy – especially if you follow these steps beforehand.

  1. Find the equipment you need & inspect online

Search our current inventory – we add thousands of items each week. Check the detailed equipment information and photos on our website, and compare similar items side-by-side.

Create a free account to help with your equipment search:

    • Check auction results to see recent selling prices
    • Add items you're interested in to a watchlist
    • Save your searches and get alerts when new items arrive in inventory
  2. Test, inspect and compare items on-site

At Ritchie Bros. we sell everything "as is, where is." For added confidence, visit the auction site to test and inspect the equipment before you bid, or send someone to do the inspection for you.

  3. Become familiar with our auction process

Ritchie Bros. conducts live auctions at physical auction sites, with real time bidding on-site and online. We sometimes sell smaller items, like equipment attachments and consumer goods, in an online Timed Auction. Make sure you read our policies before you bid and buy.

  4. Register and bid – in person, online or by proxy

When you've found something you want to buy, register to bid in that auction, confident that you've got the information you need to make informed buying decisions. You can bid in person, online or by proxy.
