Truck tractor prices up 5% year over year in Canada

In fact, our March 2021 Used Equipment Market Trends summary report shows truck tractor sales are up five percent in Canada and 15 percent in the United States, compared to the same time period last year. The March 2021 report, which is available for download now highlights equipment categories that performed particularly well last, including truck tractors, flatbed trucks, van trucks, and van trailers.

T/A truck tractor sales in Canada in 2020 – more volume and stronger pricing
We sold approximately 15% more truck tractors (T/A) in Canada in 2020 vs. 2019 and median quarterly pricing saw an uptick in Q2 through Q4.
Early 2021 highlights include a 2020 Kenworth T800 sleeper that sold for CA$160,000; a 2019 International LT625 sleeper that sold for CA$131,500; and a 2019 Mack AN64T sleeper that sold for CA$130,000.

Tri/A truck tractor sales in Canada 2020 – more volume & stronger pricing
We saw higher volumes and pricing for tri-axle truck tractors in Canada in 2020 vs. 2019, with quarterly pricing up in Q2 and Q3.
Early 2021 highlights include a 2018 Western Star 4900SA tri-drive day cab tri-axle truck tractor that sold for CA$140,000; a 2014 Kenworth T800 tri-drive sleeper tri-axle truck tractor that sold for CA$115,000; and a 2013 KenworthT800 wide nose sleeper tri-axle truck tractor that sold for US$85,000.

Van truck sales in Canada in 2020 – more volume & stronger prices
We sold a higher volume of van trucks in Canada in 2020 vs. 2019 and pricing was up in Q2 and Q3.
Early 2021 highlights include a 2014 Mack GU533 Granite T/A that sold for CA$57,000; a 2016 International 4300 SBA Durastar S/A that sold for CA$34,000; and a 2012 Hino 268 S/A that sold for CA$30,000.
