Get first in line with PriorityBid
Last August Ritchie Bros. launched PriorityBid at its Tipton, CA auction site and buyers were quick to try out the new feature, with more than 1,000 PriorityBids made in that first auction. A year later, with the 2020 August Tipton auction, we saw a 920% increase in PriorityBids year over year!
Over the past year we have seen a pretty steady increase in adoption for PriorityBid, which allows buyers to make online proxy bids in its live Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers and IronPlanet events. Place a PriorityBid and you’re first in line to win the item, provided you don’t get outbid.
How it works:
Submit a maximum bid and the PriorityBid system will bid the lowest amount required for you to win, up to your max bid. Bids are confidential and the system will only raise your bid if someone outbids you. If you’re outbid, you’ll receive an email notification. In the case of a tie, the first bid placed wins.
‘PriorityBid makes buying so much easier’
Tipton may have kicked off the PriorityBid craze at Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers, but now it’s everywhere. Our Edmonton auction in May—which attracted 23,500+ people—accepted close to 39,000 PriorityBids! An offsite auction in Grand Island, NE saw 92% of items available in the auction receive a PriorityBid.
“I’m so busy, I don’t have time to sit all day long waiting for my items to come up for bidding. PriorityBid makes buying so much easier for me,” said Warren Halle of Halle Companies, who bought a Sandvik QJ340 jaw crusher with PriorityBid.
