  1. Find the equipment, trucks or property you'd like to buy
Our web site is the best place to start looking. You can search for a specific piece or type of equipment; browse through the entire inventory for a particular auction; or sort by industry or auction location. We post photos and details of almost all the equipment and property we sell on rbauction.com – but feel free to contact the auction site for more information. Interested in receiving information about upcoming auctions? Create an account and we'll send you email updates or full-color auction brochures in the mail.
  2. Test, inspect and compare items
You should feel comfortable bidding on auction day – which is why we display equipment in our secure, fenced auction sites in the weeks before an auction. You can test, inspect and compare items from many owners, all in one place, without having to rely on a third-party inspection report. If you'd like a second opinion, bring your mechanic or another professional to inspect the equipment for you. We also give you free access to any available service reports or manuals.
  3. Look up the selling prices of similar equipment
Our auctions are strictly unreserved, with no minimum bids or reserve prices. We don't set the prices; the bidders do. Not sure what you'd be willing to bid? Create a free online account to get access to the selling prices from the past two years of Ritchie Bros. auctions. Then click on the Auction Results tab to start searching.
  4. Register to bid – in person, over the internet or by proxy
When you've found something you'd like to buy, register to bid in that auction. Remember: every item is sold on auction day. If you don't register to bid, you will miss the opportunity to buy. Registration is free. You can bid in person, over the internet or by proxy – so you can participate in auctions all around the world.
