How to Bid Online - Step 9

9. You can bid as soon as you’ve placed a check mark in the lot selection to activate your bid button. If you would like to place a bid at the current ask price, simply click your bid button. Your bid will be immediately relayed to the auctioneer (see how it works). If you were the first person to bid at that price, the message "Bid Accepted – You're On" will appear.

Your bid button will be deactivated so you don’t accidentally bid against yourself. You don’t need to bid again unless someone outbids you. If they do, the message “Outbid – Bid Again” will appear on your screen. If you’re interested in bidding at the new ask price, just click your bid button again.

If your bid was unsuccessful, you might see one of these messages:

  • Too late – when someone places an equal bid before you
  • Bid rejected – when your bid is deemed invalid by the auctioneer
  • Auctioneer backed up – you are not the highest bidder

Your bid is accepted and your bid button is disabled
