How to Bid Online - Step 7

7. The next lot being sold will appear next to a check box in the lot selection area on the right of the screen. If you want to place a bid on that item, you must click in the check box to activate your bid button.

Similar items are sometimes offered as a “choice group.” In that case, multiple lots will be listed in the lot selection area. If you’re interested in bidding on one or more of the items in the choice group, click the check box next to the one you want to buy most. You can only select one lot.

If you are the highest bidder when a choice group is sold, the auctioneer will give you the option of buying one or more of the remaining lots for the same price. After that, any remaining lots are offered to the runner up bidder, then to the other bidders. If any lots remain unsold, the bidding starts again.

Sometimes a group of lots will be sold “in lot order.” That means the highest bidder must take the first lot in the group (the one with the lowest lot number).
