VANCOUVER,
BRITISH COLUMBIA - Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers Incorporated
(NYSE:RBA), the world's leading industrial auctioneer, announces
two big auctions in Texas.
Ritchie
Bros. recently held a large auction in Houston, Texas. The
2-day auction held on August 26 & 27, 1999 generated gross
auction sales exceeding US$21 million.
Approximately
990 registered bidders attended the sale. Many of the bidders
were from the United States and Canada, but bidders also
came from as far as Venezuela, Trinidad & Tobago, the Netherlands
and Egypt.
Featured
items in the sale included rough terrain cranes, carry deck
cranes and many loader backhoes.
"We
are very pleased with our Houston sale results," says Pete
Gipson, Regional Manager of the U.S. South Central Region
for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "There was a good selection
of equipment and the bidder turnout was exceptional."
Ritchie
Bros. will be holding another multi-million dollar sale
in Fort Worth, Texas on September 21, 22 & 23, 1999.
The
3-day sale will feature a wide selection of construction,
transportation and agricultural equipment including trucks,
trailers, asphalt pavers, manlifts, scissorlifts & forklifts,
hydraulic excavators, loader backhoes, boring machines and
trenchers. The items for auction are being sold for the
following consignors: Halliburton Energy Corp., Zachry Construction
Corp., Southern Truck, Awa Bridge, Neff Rentals, United
Rentals and Rental Service Corp.
"We're
anticipating another great Fort Worth sale," says Ed Banser,
Vice President - U.S. South Central Region for Ritchie Bros.
"We have already assembled an excellent selection of trucks
and equipment from some prominent consignors; and we are
continuing to add to the auction. Our Fort Worth auctions
have always been strong, and we're hoping that this upcoming
sale is no exception."
