VANCOUVER,
BRITISH COLUMBIA A three-day Ritchie Bros. (NYSE:
RBA) auction held at the Companys auction facility
in the Port of Moerdijk (Rotterdam), the Netherlands, generated
over 33 million EURO in Gross Auction Proceeds.
Thirteen
hundred (1,300) people from over 50 countries and 18 U.S.
states registered to bid on over 2,700 trucks and equipment
items November 27th 29th. The items came from a broad
range of industry categories, including large amounts of
agricultural tractors (149), wheel loaders (163), and hydraulic
excavators (190). Buyers from outside of the Netherlands
purchased over 80% of the items.
This
was our fourth of five sales in Europe this quartera
record amount of sale activity for our European operation,
said Rob McLeod, Senior Manager of Operations for Ritchie
Bros. Auctioneers in Europe. It represents a great
opportunity for our customers. One customer in particular
was able to sell his equipment in three different markets
within a short timeframe.
This
European auction also demonstrated the growing use of the
Internet bidding service, rbauctionBid-Live, which is already
well established at the Companys North American auctions.
Over 90 bidders from 21 countries registered to bid on items
online and purchased trucks and equipment totaling over
780,000 EURO.
This
week there are nine auctions on the Ritchie Bros. auction
calendar in the United States, Canada and Mexico
seven will feature real time Internet bidding. Online broadcasts

web site; qualified bidders will log on via rbauctionBid.
