Directed
Search
The
'Directed Search' is a 4-Step guided search that takes
you through a step-by-step drilldown of our current database
to find the recent market prices of equipment.
You'll
be prompted to select each of the following (in order)
as you are guided through your search.
- Industry
- (Examples: Construction, Transportation, Agriculture...)
- Equipment
Category - (Examples: Cranes, Hydraulic Excavators,
Compactors...)
- Manufacturer
- (Examples: Case, Caterpillar, Freightliner...)
At
any step you can go back to make changes to the Industry,
Equipment, or Manufacturer choices you have already made
by clicking on the step which you would like to modify.
After
each of the above choices are made a refinement page (Step
#4) is presented that contains options for Models, Years
of Manufacture, Auction Time Period, and Auction Location.
When
each of the criteria has been selected click the 'GET
AUCTION RESULTS' button to display the results of your
search.
If
equipment matching your specific search conditions is
found in our database, it will appear listed with descriptions
and selling prices (if there are more than 50 matches,
it will display only the 50 most recently sold.) If no
items are found that match your exact conditions, the
search conditions will automatically be broadened for
you until a closely matching item listed in the database
can be displayed.
The
search results list can be sorted by clicking one of the
sort arrows at the top of the relevant column.
If
you wish to change, refine or Save (more info on Saved
Searches) the search conditions of your current 'Directed
Search', you can do so on the search refinement screen
(Step #4).

Advanced
Search
The
advanced search allows an individual to specify all of
the search criteria in one step from one location. But,
because of the freedom that is allowed in entering search
criteria, there is no guarantee that Advanced Searches
will return any matches of items listed in the current
database. Or guaranteed search results you should use
the Directed Search service.
When
specifying advanced search conditions, some required search
selections offer the choice of making a selection from
a drop down list or by typing specific values in. All
fields require a selection to be specified before the
search can be run.
