1. What can I do with the rbauctionBid-Live software?

The rbauctionBid-Live software provides a full live auction experience. Using it, you can see the current ask and high bid prices being called by the auctioneer, see detail and summary information of the lots for sale, see the "Choice and Privilege" lot groupings, listen to the auctioneer and see the images of the equipment for sale.

The rbauctionBid-Live software also allows you to place bids live and in real-time in selected Ritchie Bros. auctions.

2. How do I start the rbauctionBid-Live software?

There are two ways. When the auction has started, visit the rbauction.com home page. You will see two flashing icons beside the auction on the auction calendar.

If you wish to watch the auction, click on the 'VIEW' icon. This will take you to the live auction viewing section, allowing for watching the auction as a guest (without registering for auction bidding). Follow the instructions to start the rbauctionBid-Live software and join the auction broadcast.

If you wish to bid live in the action, click on the 'BID' icon. This will take you to the rbauctionBid-Live section. If you're registered to participate in the auction, follow the instructions to start the rbauctionBid-Live software and join the auction broadcast as an Internet bidder. If you're not registered for the auction, you'll be directed to the auction registration section on the rbauction.com web site.

3. My computer is behind a firewall. Can I still use the rbauctionBid-Live software?

Yes, but you may need your systems administrator to make some adjustments to the firewall. The rbauctionBid-Live software requires that TCP port range 5,000 - 13,000 and UDP port range 9,000 - 10,000 and 30,000 - 31,000 are open for outbound connections.

4. What do I do if I lose my connection to the Internet during the auction?

No problem. Just re-establish your Internet session, and the rbauctionBid-Live software will automatically reconnect to the auction broadcast. There should be no need to restart the software.

5. Why does the audio sometimes sound garbled or cut-out intermittently?

The quality of your audio depends on the speed of your Internet connection and the amount of traffic on the Internet at any given time. From time to time, you may experience audio dropouts or garbled audio due to intermittent spikes in Internet traffic. If your Internet connection speed is at least 40Kbps, audio dropouts or garbled audio will generally be temporary.

6. Why does the audio sound high-pitched (sped up) or low-pitched (slowed down)?

If your PC's sound card is not 100% SB-16 compliant you may experience unusual sounding audio. Ensure your sound card is SB-16 compliant.

Live Auction...". You can also right click on the button and then choose "Restore".
