1. How can I tell what currency the auction is conducted in?

Your bidder's screen displays the currency of the auction in the upper right-hand corner. "USD" represents United States Dollars and "CAD" represents Canadian Dollars. Auctions conducted in the United States are in USD, and auctions conducted in Canada are in CAD.

2. How do I know if I am required to submit a deposit? If so, how do I send the deposit in?

When you register for a rbauctionBid-Live auction, based on your transaction history with Ritchie Bros., you'll be informed as to whether or not you need to submit a deposit in advance of the auction. If you are required to submit a deposit, the amount of the deposit will be 25% of the Bidding Limit you selected. You'll be provided with instructions for wire transferring your deposit to Ritchie Bros. Please ensure you get your deposit in at least 48 hours prior to auction. If we haven't received your deposit, you will not be able to bid online in the auction. Please note that all wire transfer fees incurred by you to send your deposit to Ritchie Bros. are at your own expense.

3. If I did not purchase any items, will my deposit be automatically returned?

After the auction has ended, you will be contacted by Ritchie Bros. to arrange for return of your deposit. Please note that your deposit will be returned to you in the same currency in which it was received by Ritchie. Bros., less wire transfer fees. No currency exchange fees or interest will be paid to you by Ritchie Bros.

4. How do I know which lots I've purchased?

Each time you are the winning bidder for a lot, you will see a "SOLD TO YOU!" message above your bid button and the amount of your purchase will be added to the purchase total in the upper-right corner of your bidder's screen. To review a complete summary of your purchases at the auction, click the "View Purchases" button at the top of your screen at any time. This will launch a web browser and display a complete purchase summary. You can print this summary by choosing the Print menu item in your web browser. Please note that purchase summary does not include applicable administrative fees, purchase fees or taxes. The invoice faxed to you at the completion of the sale will include all applicable fees and taxes.

5. How do I pay for items I've purchased?

Payment for items purchased using the rbauctionBid-Live service is handled in the same fashion as for Proxy (absentee) bids. At the completion of the auction, you will be faxed or mailed your invoice. For lots with a purchase price of $10,000 or less, payment in full must be made on sale day. For all other lots, a payment equal to the greater of $10,000 or 25% of the purchase price must be made on sale day, and the remainder must be paid within 7 days. The buyer will be charged a 10% administrative fee on each item purchased for $2,500 or less. Please make arrangements to wire transfer payments due on sale day to Ritchie Bros.

6. In what currencies can I make my payment?

Payment for items purchased in the auction are made in the currency in which the auction is being conducted. If you submitted a deposit prior to the auction in another currency, your deposit will be converted to the currency of the auction at the noon day rate on the day immediately following the conclusion of the auction sale.
