2. Are my obligations as a bidder the same whether I participate in the auction via the rbauctionBid-Live service or attend the auction in person?

Yes. The terms and conditions you agree to during the rbauctionBid-Live registration process are substantially the same as those you agree to when you register in-person at a Ritchie Bros. auction. Please read the Internet Bidding Terms and Conditions and the Bidder's Registration agreements carefully before participating in the auction.

3. Can I use my Internet Bidder number to register in person at a Ritchie Bros. auction?

No. Your Internet Bidder number, which is permanently assigned to you during the initial rbauctionBid-Live registration process, can only be used for Internet bidding. If you attend a Ritchie Bros. auction in person you still need to register at the counter and receive your catalog and bidder number.

4. Does registering to bid at the auction site automatically register me for Internet bidding?

No. At this time, registrations for bidding in person at the auction site and for bidding over the Internet are separate. To bid on the Internet you must first register on the web site, and to bid at the auction in person, you must register at the auction site. However, registration is free (note that deposit may be required), and if you need to you can register to bid both ways for the same auction.

5. What is a "Bidding Limit" and why do I need to set one in order to register for an auction?

Your "Bidding Limit" is an amount you choose and it is the maximum amount of total purchases you can make in any single rbauctionBid-Live event. We ask you to set this Bidding Limit as a personal protection measure for yourself. By setting a Bidding Limit, you can protect yourself from purchasing more that you had intended.

6. How do I change my Bidding Limit?

You can increase or decrease your Bidding Limit for any auction. Visit the rbauctionBid-Live auction schedule page, click on the "Check a list of auctions for which you've already registered here" link, logon by entering your Express Bidder Number and PIN, then click the "Edit" link beside the auction of interest. Change your Bidding Limit and click "Submit". Your Bidding Limit for that auction is now changed. If you are logged in and watching the auction, the change may take up to 10 minutes to take effect.

Please note that if you submitted a deposit for the auction you will not be able to change your Bidding Limit once the auction is in progress.

7. Why do I need to provide a Contact Telephone number in order to register for the auction?

During the auction, Ritchie Bros. may need to contact you regarding any purchases you have made. It's important that the contact telephone number you provide not be the same telephone line that you use to connect your computer to the Internet. If Ritchie Bros. is unable to contact you at the number you provided, Ritchie Bros. reserves the right to suspend your rbauctionBid-Live access until such time that you can be reached.
