Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers sells more used construction equipment than any other company in the world. Every year, we sell thousands of trucks, excavators, loaders, cranes and other heavy equipment items from every major manufacturer, including Caterpillar, John Deere, Hitachi, Komatsu and Case at unreserved industrial auctions around the world.

For more than four decades, we've been helping customers sell their surplus construction equipment; we have also conducted hundreds of complete dispersals and major realignments. Our December 2006 unreserved auction in Los Angeles featured complete dispersals for two California-based construction companies, and included trucks and equipment from dozens of other consignors.

The two-day auction featured a huge selection of construction equipment, including 84 crawler tractors, 93 motor scrapers, 30 wheel loaders, 56 skid steer loaders and 34 hydraulic excavators. There were more than 3,200 lots in total at this auction.

The wide range of equipment at our public auctions attracts buyers from around the world and from a range of industries. Almost 2,700 registered bidders from all over North America and 27 other countries registered for the Los Angeles auction. Many attended the auction in person, but close to 800 people registered to bid online using our rbauctionBid-Live real-time internet bidding service. Like all Ritchie Bros. auctions, the sale was completely unreserved, meaning every item sold on auction day to the highest bidder.
